Curriculum Overview and Class Policies

Class rules:

  • Be courteous and considerate of your peers and teachers.
  • Be in your seat and ready to work when it is time for class to begin.
  • Bring all necessary materials to class.
  • Abide by all school rules listed in your handbook.
  • Be positive and help to create an environment in which everyone can learn.
  • If you feel confused or unsure about something, ASK FOR HELP!

Work expectations:

  • All work is expected to be done on time.
  • A daily assignment that is one day late will be accepted for 60% credit.
  • After one day late, the completed daily work will be accepted, but a failing grade will be earned.
  • Large assignments such as book reports, compositions, and projects will be penalized 10% per day late.

Grades for Literature classes are weighted as follows:

  • Daily work/Homework   33%
  • Book reports/Projects     33%
  • Tests/Quizzes                  33%

Grades for Language Arts classes are weighted as follows:

  • Daily work/Homework     33%
  • Writing /Projects               33%
  • Quiz/ test                           33%
